Set in the dried-up midwest mining town of Eldritch, Rimers is the story of a community torn apart by scandal when a reclusive hermit is murdered by a townswoman who believed she was preventing a rape. Throughout the murder trial, Wilson examines the potential for prejudice and cruelty among the members of a small community and changes the laws of time. The citizens' false morality becomes blatantly evident as the trial shines a light on the desperation and intolerance of a small town.
