The Roles I'll Never Play Cabaret
   directed by Amanda Durham

Performances: June 2, 3 & 9, 10 at 8pm

We're back!  Last year, our Miscast Cabaret featured over 30 talented singers and dancers performing Broadway numbers for which only the opposite sex would be cast. We've changed it up a bit for this year! A super-talented cast will be singing their way through Broadway's favorite tunes that were definitely not typical casting!  Join us one more time as a dozen of the strongest performers take on roles that you’d never expect them to take on. A great performance has less to do with gender, ethnicity or age, and more to do with the empathy a performer brings to a role!

Director  -  Amanda McFarland
Amanda is thrilled to direct another fantastic cabaret at Barefoot Productions! This production marks my 13
th show since MisCast a year ago and I cannot be more excited to showcase this fresh group of talented people! I’d like to thank this cast for being incredible, my family for understanding my love for the arts and Barefoot for housing every wild idea I have. A little about this production; this is a multi-musical review featuring some of Barefoot’s favorite actors as well as new actors! The cast and I hope that you enjoy this evening full of traditional, modern, classic and new musical theatre numbers.  “And we danced, on the brink of an unknown future, to an echo from a vanished past” –John Wyndham

Melissa Ripper
First appeared on the Barefoot stage in the ensemble of the Man of LaMancha and again in last summer's Miscast the Musical. A sophomore at Northville High School, she will be heading for the UK for an exciting educational tour of Ireland, Scotland and England.

Alex Meyer
Is excited for his second production at Barefoot Productions. Last fall, he played Leaf Coneybear in the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. He has been doing Wayne Youth Theatre since 2007 and he has also done shows at school. He was in a student one act at Eastern Michigan University and played a bad guy. Alex enjoys singing and dancing on stage and he even got selected a song in the show that he wanted to sing. He auditioned with that song and the other cast members requested for him to sing it.

Jessica Carlin
Is proud to be performing here at Barefoot. She has had the pleasure to perform in The 39 Steps, Motherhood Outloud, and Miscast Cabaret. She choreographed and assistant directed Spelling Bee and ran the lights for The Misanthrope. On stage or off, Jessica enjoys everything about this theatre. She would like to thank her loving a supportive husband for dealing with all her crazy and all of the people at Barefoot for giving her the opportunity to be in the theatre once more. It's a nice escape from her day job: teaching.

Picture
Butch Plague
Has played roles from leads to supernumeraries in theatres large and small throughout the metro area. His favorite role was Don Quixote in Man of La Mancha for Barefoot Productions. He was las seen on the Guild Stage in Kiss ME Kate. Auto mechanic by day and millionaire philanthropist/philander by night. Butch wants to thank his wife and Daphne for putting up with him.

Jeanne Marie Pruett

is honored to be back on stage for the fourth time at Barefoot Productions.  She was previously seen in Vagina Monologues, Motherhood Outloud and last year’s Miscast Cabaret.  While her early adult years found her at professional theatres such as The Attic Theatre, Henry Ford Museum Theatre and Meadowbrook, she is now enjoying doing theatre for fun.  This past year Jeanne has been seen as Cee Cee Wyndham in Guacamole Queens and as Charlotte in Mother Truckers for Better Than Ever Productions, the Principal and Matron in Hairspray at the Berman Theatre and as Sylvie in the staged reading of Bagels the Musical at the JET.  Jeanne is also the president of Better Than Ever Productions and occasionally helps out Spotlight On Youth.  She is very busy.  By day she is a computer scientist, but when she walks into a theatre her true personality(ties) come out.  Love and hugs to all her supporters.

Patrick Yee
Is returning for his third show with Barefoot Productions. His Barefoot debut was in Miscast in 2016. He graduated with a B.A. in Musical Theatre from Adrian College in 2016.  Musical career highlights include Benny (RENT), Larry (Company), and Aldolpho (The Drowsy Chaperone).  He is mildly disappointed that he is not pretending to be a woman this year.

Annette Ripper

Is thrilled to be sharing the stage yet again, with so many talented performers (Especially, her wonderful daughter Melissa). She would like to thank Amanda for the opportunity to sing such an amazing song, and of course, her husband Mark, for his love and support.

Kate Fasko

has been performing since age 6. She made her debut with Barefoot Productions last fall in the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee as Marcy Park, and recently played Clown 1 in The 39 Steps. Other favorite productions she has been a part of include Grease (Rizzo), Into the Woods (Jack’s Mother), and Les Miserables (ensemble). She would like to thank her parents Dan and Sharla, sister Heather, and boyfriend Roger, for their continued support through her relentless and exhausting theatre career.

Gary Turnquist

Is really looking forward to this event. He no longer feels pretty and needs to be a part of this assemble of cast and characters for a couple weekends of fun. Gary has been in shows at barefoot on stage and in the booth. He is retired from EDS as a network design engineer and as a professor in the business department at Eastern Michigan. His Kathy has been his support for over 50 years and loves having him out of the house (to rehearse)  ;=)

Leonard Poma
is a proud “barefootian”.  This is the sixth production he’s been involved in since the 2015 “Man of La Mancha”. Overall, he been involved in over 60 theater productions in 20 years. He finds the theater an intimate setting and the other “barefootians” talented and congenial.  An electrical design engineer by trade, he finds theater arts a enjoyable non-electrical “outlet” (pun intended).  Len hopes you thoroughly enjoy this production.

Mike Cuba has been active in community theater for several years as an actor, director, and stage technician.  After starting with Spotlight players, he moved on to Barefoot productions, and now Inspire Theatre.  Many thanks to Jane for putting up with this nonsense!

Amy Marie Tippy

is excited to get back on the stage. This will be her first musical theatre production in 5 years when she played Rona in the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. She is currently studying Music Therapy with a focus on voice at Eastern Michigan University. Outside of studying and student loans, Amy enjoys dancing at Motorcity Swing and Swing Farmington, serving food at Outback Steakhouse and the Burger Loft, sitting on children, and being spoiled by her amazing boyfriend, Michael.

Picture
Brittany Chapa

is ecstatic to be on the barefoot stage again! She did miscast cabaret last year as the Tin Man from the Wiz and had so much fun! Brittany has been doing theatre for seven years, some of her favorite roles include Sarah Brown (Guys and  Dolls) Kitty (The Drowsy Chaperone) and Marty (Grease).  Although Brittany Loves doing theatre here in Michigan she is moving to New York in July to further her career at the New York Film Academy.  She has been casted in their Musical Theatre company and can’t wait to get started! She would love to thank her amazing mom and dad for their support and her boyfriend for always pushing her to succeed at what she does best…. and that's performing!

is very excited to have had the chance to perform at her beloved Barefoot again! Last summer she was in the Miscast Cabaret singing Nobody Needs to Know from The Last Five Years, amongst a few group numbers. She is currently a sophomore at Western Michigan University, studying Theatre. She would like to thank Amanda for always believing in her, Barefoot for being a great hunk of people, and her Mom, Aunt and Bargain. Much Love.

Eliya Adams is excited to be participating in her first ever Barefoot Production show. Especially because she gets to sing a song from one of her favorite musicals. Some of her theater credits include Annie Jr (Where she was in the ensemble), Sound of Music (Sister Margaretta), Little Women (Marmee), and West Side Story (Anita). She would like to thank her family for encouraging her to get out there, Mrs. Frye for insisting she join another show, and Aliva for getting just as obsessed with Heathers as she is.
