Next scheduled auditions: Steel Magnolias Director: Cal Schwartz
Steel Magnolias, by Robert Harling, was a heartwarming off-Broadway play which later became a popular movie starring Shirley MacLaine, Sally Field and Julia Roberts, among others. Steel Magnolias centers on the bond among a group of Southern women in northwest Louisiana and was inspired by the author's experience with the death of his sister.

When: February 22 and 23 starting at 6pm UPDATE: The forecast calls for snow Monday and Tuesday. If you are unable to make auditions either day, you will be allowed to come to callbacks on Thurs. Feb. 25 at 6pm and read for the play.
Where: 240 N. Main Street, Plymouth, MI (Walker-Buzenberg Building)
What: Auditioners are asked to bring a headshot and resume if available as well as present a two-minute monologue. Please be prepared to note any schedule conflicts. Cold reads from the script will also be conducted.
Performance Dates: May 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22 @ 8pm May 9 (Mother's Day) & 16 @ 2pm
Character Descriptions:
Truvy: Late 30s/early 40s; intelligent, head for business, unique sense of class, owner of local beauty salon
Annelle: Late teen/early twenties; eager to please, searching for life's purpose
Clairee: 50s/60s; first lady of Chinquapin, filled with grace and charm
Shelby: 20s; prettiest girl in town; excited about being in love and beginning a new life as a married woman.
M'Lynn: 45/plus; Shelby's mother, strong career woman, dearly protective and loving of her daughter
Ouiser: 50s/60s; very wealthy, has lived life, says whatever comes to mind without concern of the consequences
