AN ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE
In a diverse and accepting “Pure Michigan” town, where people drink the purest water, Mayor Peter Stockman fears it could evaporate like so many other towns, so he comes up with a business plan to save it. When his PhD sister, Tamara, discovers the ‘solution’ is drinking tainted water, they split themselves and the town into a battle between jobs and water. Amid a storm of tweets and posts, Tamara and her wife, Robin, try to explain to their children the struggle of living in a community and standing up to do the right thing. With shades of Flint and evolving social mores, Barefoot Productions brings Henrik Ibsen’s classic play home to Michigan with this world-premiere adaptation by Paulsen K. Vandevert of An Enemy of the People. ON STAGE: October 5–7 and 12–14, 2018 Fridays & Saturdays at 8 PM | Sunday Matinees at 2 PM GET YOUR SEATS TODAY! |
